Alex the sneaky

Yesterday Alex came home with his conduct paper. They have 3 faces: a green happy face, a yellow straight face and a red sad face. I picked him up from Loud Crowd.. The afternoon program at school, and checked his conduct paper. It looked as if it had been through the ringer and there was a hole in it now. Alex declared.... Mommy my folder is broken. I asked what happened to. Your conduct paper? He repeated his folder was broken. I could barely make out the faces anymore much less Wednesday's grade. The marker had all been erased by whatever was done to the paper. However I was able to make out some numbers which correlate to behavior problems which were written in pen. Today as we were getting out of the van, I broached the subject again... Alex, did you take your conduct paper out of your folder yesterday?
Yes
And did you put some water on it?
Yes... I wash that sad face away.

I laughed.. And probably out loud. Little stinker was bound and determined not to get in trouble.

The great Ohio expedition

Turning 4

I wanted the boys to have a great 4th birthday party because they actually have little friends now. The water slide was a mega hit. They are two amazing little boys who are now all potty-trained. They can both spell their name although they cannot write it. They know their entire alphabet and can start up the television or computer with no adult supervision. Legos are becoming a new infatuation for William while Alex is enamored with video games...expressly Super Mario Brothers. Who knew that a video game that came out in my childhood would be loved by my own children.

Don't listen to TLC, Go chasing waterfalls

This was a mommy-daughter, after-camp pickup trip. I fiercely love the mountains, so I take every opportunity to spend time there. We played at Pisgah National Forest and went in search of waterfalls. My daughter, being the city-girl she is, did not fare well being wet on mountainous terrain. We saw 2 waterfalls in all, but it was a really great trip.
