Six months seems to be a very eventful age so far. Addison is taking baths in the big tub now. She gets the biggest kick out of slapping and splashing the water. Since she's getting better at sitting up, she likes sitting more than anything else. Our biggest accomplishment (I think) is Patty Cake. Where exactly does this little rhyme come from...anyway, she's getting the clapping thing down most days, but she stops clapping at the "roll it up, roll it up, throw it in the pan" part. By the way, I think we're teaching her some abridged version due to the excitingly explosive ending of throwing it in the pan..lol.
She's so cute!!! When I figure out how to download from my video camera, I'll post the latest video for all to enjoy.

My family (at last)
Instead of taking a bunch of photos of my girl, I thought we'd have our very first formal family photo - how's that for alliteration. Here they are.

1/2 years old :)
I keep coming back from Addison's doctor visits with the same report...she's HUGE. My adorable little bundle of love is 6 months old today and weighed in at a whopping 19.8lbs and is 27 3/4" long. Needless to say, she's the bigger than pretty much all kids her age. Doc says she's doing great and that we'll hit a plateau soon. The only part of me that minds her nearly 20lbs little self is the arm that carries that darn carseat around. I should have some mega-muscles by the end of this first year.
In all seriousness though, she's doing amazing things these days. Still no rolling over, but she can sit up all by herself. Now if I could just teach her not to throw herself backwards we'd be in really great shape.
So, Happy 1/2 Birthday Addison!!! Mommy loves you!

Cutest Easter Bunny
Here are 35 pictures of the cutest Easter Bunny ever! I know it's a bunch, but we had so much fun watching her really sit alone for the first time.

Nintendo
Do you remember back in the 80s, when you or your friend had that "new" gaming system where the graphics were so cool and realistic? How about all the hours you spent in front of the TV trying relentlessly to get through the different levels of Super Mario Brothers without getting killed? Nine levels and only 3 men - You can do it! While cleaning out our closets, Michael and I found a Nintendo that Aunt Pat had given us several years ago...and down memory lane we went. Just getting through Super Mario Brothers was like revisiting a childhood home. The places were all too familiar yet it was hard to remember the unique little quirks of the place with out a bit of thought and a few sacrificed lives. Needless to say, I do not have the patience to play as long as I used to, but we have played until an impressive 12:30 a.m tonight. Now all those "cool" graphics of yesteryear look like big chunky squares to me and it makes me wonder what video games will achieve by the time Addison has one listed in her letter to Santa.

I need to rant!
I must confess I am not the best of housekeepers. There's usually plenty of other things going on in life than for me to spend my evenings scrubbing baseboards. It doesn't help that I have a 5 month old and 2 animals who REALLY don't care if they make a mess or shed hair everywhere. I am aware of all of this and I do my best to maintain the house...scrub the toilets, do the laundry, clean the kitchen, vacuum the LR and occasionally mop. What is a good compromise? Well of course, to hire someone to help me clean. So yes I did get a bit defensive tonight when the cleaning lady kept telling me over and over how dirty certain things were, showing me the mop water, etc. I know it's dirty..that's why she was here. So now, I'm dealing with the guilt of the fact that my house was "sooo" dirty and I'm a horrible housekeeper.
Who juggles all that and makes it work. Who works all day, with their kid in towe and comes home to cook a nutritious meal and manages to do the laundry and clean a 3 BR/3Bath house and have time for sex with their husband..who does that?!?!? I'd like to shake their hand. In the meantime, I'm going to continue to have a messy house just so the cleaning lady has a lot to do! So there.
